Writers often call me their “secret weapon,” but I prefer the more peaceful “best friend in the book-writing process.”

I’m a developmental editor, publishing strategist, and creative coach based on a small island in the Pacific Northwest, Canada.

I spent fifteen years in the world’s top publishing houses, acquiring and editing fiction and non-fiction for change-makers and thought leaders.

I’m one of the few editors who has worked in house for both traditional and hybrid publishers.

Now I’m a free agent, baby. And I love to colour outside the lines of publishing.

I work with independent writers and open-hearted entrepreneurs to shape their big ideas and finish their books.

I specialize in editing memoirs and business books.

“If I might speak honestly here … editors typically hate me. I’m pedantic, elusive, exhausting and overly opinionated. So it takes someone special to manage my ego, nudge me forward, and bring out my best, both as a writer and a person. Amanda Lewis is all that. I love The Advice Trap, and she held my hand through every stage of its creation, from roughing it out at the start to the fine finishing required at the end. And all without me going into diva mode!”

Michael Bungay Stanier, international bestselling author of The Coaching Habit and The Advice Trap
